A session without another glowing rectangle
Ten, fifteen, or twenty minutes of full-screen red — the same practice window dedicated panels use. Hardware you already paid for.
Red light sessions on the display you already own
Sit close. Brightness up. The closest visible red this Mac can emit — then Escape when you are done. Or keep working under a live red filter. No extra panel.

Outcomes first
Ten, fifteen, or twenty minutes of full-screen red — the same practice window dedicated panels use. Hardware you already paid for.
⌥⌘R remaps the desktop to red, like an accessibility color filter. More time under visible red without blocking the afternoon.
We show target-versus-this-display instead of inventing 660 nm, 850 nm, or a fluence we have not measured.
Two ways
Full-screen Maximum Red — Display P3 (1, 0, 0). Sit close. Brightness to 100%. Night Shift, True Tone, and Invert Colors off. Dock and menu bar hide. Escape or Option-Command-Period exits.
The desktop stays usable. The color is remapped to red. Option-Command-R toggles it. Option-Command-Period restores colors and ends a running session.
Straight answers
Display P3 red’s published dominant wavelength is about 614.9 nm, inside the 600–700 nm window. That is the closest legitimate visible red this panel can be asked for. The app will not mix in green to “look like 660.” There is no 850 nm mode.
No. This is a timed red-light session and wellness utility. It is not a medical device and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. People search the category as red light therapy. The research on dedicated panels is mixed too. We still ship the closest session this Mac can run.
A laptop is not a 300-LED panel. It will not invent irradiance we have not measured. It will run the 10–20 minute practice, at the closest red the hardware can emit, on the display you already own. Try that before buying another glowing rectangle.
