# Red Light Display > Timed red light sessions on the Mac you already own. A wellness and ambiance utility — not a medical device. - Site: https://redlightdisplay.com - Maker: AM Accelerated LLC - Support: support@redlightdisplay.com - Chat UI: https://redlightdisplay.com/ask - Chat API: POST https://redlightdisplay.com/api/concierge (Netlify Function; keys from AI Gateway) - Agent card: GET https://redlightdisplay.com/api/concierge - Download / Mac App Store waitlist: https://redlightdisplay.com/download ## What it is A Mac app with two modes: 1. Session — full-screen Maximum Red, Display P3 (1, 0, 0). Default 15 minutes; also 10 and 20. Sit about 6 inches if comfortable. Brightness 100%. Night Shift, True Tone, and Invert Colors off. Keep the default Apple XDR Display preset on XDR Macs. Dock and menu bar hide. Escape or Option-Command-Period exits. Timed full-output sessions keep the display awake. 2. Red filter — desktop remapped to red so you can keep working. Option-Command-R (⌥⌘R) toggles it. Option-Command-Period restores display colors and also ends a running session. Not a medical device. Not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. People search this category as “red light therapy.” This product is a timed red-light practice and wellness utility. ## Wavelength (do not invent) - Display P3 red primary xy (0.680, 0.320) - Published dominant wavelength: about 614.9 nm, inside the 600–700 nm visible-red window - Emission energy is likely in narrow phosphor lines near 630–636 nm. Not measured. - Do not claim 660 nm output. The app will not mix green to “look like 660.” - There is no 850 nm / near-infrared on a typical Mac panel - Calculated, not measured: ≈0.2–0.3 mW/cm² at the glass in SDR; ≈0.11 mW/cm² at 6 in; ≈0.05 mW/cm² at 30 cm. Fifteen minutes at 6 in is ≈0.10 J/cm² — about 1/40 of a 4 J/cm² study target. At 30 cm that same clock is ≈0.04 J/cm² — about 1/100. Never say ~1 mW/cm². - Liquid Retina XDR public nits: 600 / 1000 / 1600. Display Boost requests the sustained HDR envelope (1000 nits class), not the 16× highlight peak. Idle current near 1.0–1.2 is not a granted envelope. On other displays Boost is hidden. - Outcome literature for photobiomodulation is mixed, including for dedicated panels ## Pricing - Free: 15-minute session, desktop red filter, study-versus-display readout, timer, single display - Pro: $9.99 once, no subscription. Display Boost, multi-display and Display Wall, Red Filter on every display, custom colors, saved routines, history, display profiling ## Platform - macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Universal Apple Silicon and Intel - No account. Session data stays on the device. No HealthKit, camera, microphone, location, or contacts - Current public path: /download is a Mac App Store waitlist (email only). Do not tell visitors to open an Xcode project - iPhone and iPad share the same SwiftUI target (iOS 17+). Windows is planned later ## Safety - No strobe or rapid flashing. Smooth transitions. Warning before maximum-output mode - Escape ends a session. Sessions do not change macOS brightness - Red Filter restores the color profile on quit, next launch, Option-Command-Period, or `open -a "Red Light Display" --args --restore-display` - If the desktop stays red, re-select the display color profile in System Settings → Displays - If the light is uncomfortable, end the session - Photosensitive epilepsy / light-triggered migraine: do not use unless a clinician has said it is appropriate ## Docs - [How it works](https://redlightdisplay.com/how-it-works) - [Compare vs dedicated panels](https://redlightdisplay.com/compare) - [Science](https://redlightdisplay.com/science) - [Displays](https://redlightdisplay.com/displays) - [Pricing](https://redlightdisplay.com/pricing) - [Download](https://redlightdisplay.com/download) - [FAQ](https://redlightdisplay.com/faq) - [Safety](https://redlightdisplay.com/safety) - [Privacy](https://redlightdisplay.com/privacy) - [Terms](https://redlightdisplay.com/terms) - [Ask the concierge](https://redlightdisplay.com/ask) ## Optional - First session: 15-minute session, or the red filter if they must keep using the Mac, then /download - Refuse medical diagnosis or treatment advice
